NAPgA Rendezvous - NAPgA 2010 Rendezvous & Other Gatherings - NAPgA 2010 Rendy, July 22-26 2010 NAPgA Rendezvous NAPgA Rendy 2010 Entry Form (Click to Download) The North American Packgoat Association (NAPgA), http://www.napga.org will be holding their 12th annual packgoat rendezvous at Meadow Lake in Wyoming's Wind River Range, July 2010 from Thursday 22nd to Monday the 26th. We are hoping to have everyone there on that 4-day weekend with or without their goats. If you cannot bring your goats I'm sure someone will loan you one for the weekend.
Bring your tents, hammocks, trailers, and motor homes for a weekend of fun with other goat people. Weed-free hay will need to be used and health certificates will be needed for the goats coming into the state, portable potties will be rented for our use.
If you need us to bring you hay please contact me before the event. We will only bring hay for those who have pre-ordered. All hay must be weed free certified hay.
Goats will be required to be tethered in camp and on a packstring on the trails, as much as is possible. This is a hotbed issue and we need to impress these people with our goat handling abilities. There is an article on packstringing here somewhere. You can search for it under packstringing. We will also have a volunteer service project, probably on Thursday or Friday so bring goats and hauling gear. We don't know what it will be yet.
We will also be having the usual silent auction to raise money for NAPgA; Carolyn Eddy is in charge of that, let her know if you have something to donate. If you can't come you can mail it to me and I will get it to the rendy.
Friday and Saturday night will be potluck meals. Dean Clause, the Wildlife Biologist that works for the Wyoming Game and Fish over in the Bridger-Teton National Forest side, says that he will go to work this week and get someone to come out and talk to us either Thursday or Friday night about current issues, Bighorn Sheep, wolves, bears, etc. Come camp with us and have a great time. This event moves from state to state every year so if you have a great place in mind for future events, let me know.
Bring items for the silent auction.
Also, if you have a motorhome please be considerate of your neighbors in tents. Many people are backcountry campers and aren't used to being awakened by the sound of generators in camp. To say nothing of the fact that the sound and odor goes right through nylon.
Dogs will need to be on leash in the camp and under positive control on the trail. Be considerate of the fact that not all goats are used to dogs. Charley Jennings will have a satellite phone available for emergency use. Carolyn Eddy will be giving first aid and other classes.
If there is something you would like to do or see happen please let us know. This is your Rendy and we'd like to do whatever to make it better.
